Our National Flag Ceremony

Members of the Defence Forces came to our school today to present us with Our National Flag.  This is to mark the centenary of the 1916 Easing Rising.  There was a wonderful musical performance from our very talented musicians not to mention Bridie who entertained us with a beautiful Irish dance.  This was followed by a reading of the 1916 Proclamation helped by Liam.  The National Flag was then presented to our Good Citizen of the month Ella and the Proclomation was given to Liam.  Next came a Q & A session and the children asked very intelligent questions to the soldiers.  The ceremony ended with a proud performance of Amhrán na bhFiann followed by light refreshments.  Thanks to all who came to the event and helped out.
